The most memorable thing I will never forget about Leah was her laugh. It was one of those laughs where you couldn’t help but to laugh with her when you heard it. She always made coming to work an enjoyable experience. The last time I talked to her she asked how my college experience was going and about how we were both looking forward to when I came home so we could work together again. She was a good friend and the best manager. Papa Murphy’s won’t be the same without her.

Leah brightened my day every single time I stepped into Papa Murphys. She was always there to talk to and spend time with. Leah could always make you laugh. One night she even drove up to Muncie just to visit me at Ball State. She had one of the biggest hearts of anyone I had ever met. As our manager she never had the heart to fire anyone, some else always had to do it. She will be terribly missed.
Tammy Abbott says
I met Leah when her dad and I got together in 1989 – I think she was in 6th grade. It took her a little while, but we grew close and I loved her like she was my very own daughter! She was such a sweet girl! We haven’t been in touch much lately, but SHE WILL BE MISSED!
Leah, I love you and hope you are in Heaven looking down on us and I’ll see you on the other side! Love, Tammy

Leah also has two sisters that even though we did not keep in touch like we should have, we thought about her all the time. She was very funny and thoughtful. I regret that Her and I did not get the chance to know each other better and get as close as sisters should be. Leah, you will be in my thoughts forever. Love Dawn

I met Leah last year while working at Papa Murphys. She was such a giving and carefree person. She was not only an awesome manager and good friend, but an all around great person. My life will never be the same. The Abbott family will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

Leah was not only a great boss to me but a great person. She was always there for me when I needed her the most. I started working with her when I was going through some terrible times in my life and she made my life so much easier. She was always there to laugh, listen, and just care. She was always wanting to help out kids that were in trouble or in bad situations. I know that she touched many hearts and it deeply saddens me that she is gone. My life and many many others will never be the same.
Love, Just another troubled kid

I extend my sincere condolences to the entire Abbott family. In sad times as this we can find comfort in God’s promise to reunite us with our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death by means of a resurrection and that soon this “enemy, death is to be brought to nothing.” -John 5 vs.28,29; Psalm 37 vs.11,29,34; 1Corinthians 15 vs.26 May this precious hope that awaits us and your treasured memories of special times with Leah, bring you a measure of comfort in this difficult time.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Leah. I was her Brownie and Girl Scout leader, and have fond memories of her and the times she spent with my daughter Joy. She had a zest for life, and sounds like she continued it during the rest of her life. My prayers are with her children and family that she leaves behind. Jeree Akin

I was so saddened to read about Leah’s early passing. I went to high school with her. We did not know each other well, but she was once very kind to me when she didn’t have to be. I have never forgotten it.
My prayers are with her family and loved ones. I am so sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear of your family loss. I grew up and spent many days with Leah. We lived close together and went through Girl Scouts together. It is always said to say that we all grow up and go our seperate ways and don’t always keep in touch. Leah was a great person and a wonderful friend growing up. Our prayers and thoughts will be with the family during this holiday season, Joy Akin (Buckley), Dave Buckley, James, Anthony and Mackenzie.
